The AM1 Fiberglass fin was designed by iconic shaper Al Merrick. Of the three AM1 sets this is the stiffest version, making it optimal for stability and control in powerful surf while the additional rake provides hold when driving through carves. A wide base and refined tip provides hold off the bottom and release off of the top while the fiberglass adds durability in reef breaks.
The Control Series is an upgrade to our fiberglass line. Now featuring a layer of uni-carbon strips which give them a much more dynamic response. This addition also allowed us to give these fins a thinner profile. This translates to a lighter-weight fin and a decrease in drag without sacrificing the durability or control youâÂÂd expect from a fiberglass fin. The Control Series is also a great addition to our Ride Number story, contrasting with Speed Generating fins such as Blackstix or the Generation Series. These fins will fit into the 1 to 3 Ride Number range as the most Speed Controlling options in our line. Make sure to have a set of these in your fin quiver for powerful conditions.
