Manufacturer's description:

“I was smiling so much I got sunburnt teeth!”

This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You think you’re looking at a funboard? Think again. This is a shortboard on steroids.

On paper it’s a funboard and if you’re looking to catch green waves and do some turns, the width, volume and length means this board will do it all day long – it’s perfect for you. But in the hands of a seasoned surfer it’ll come alive. Think of it as a shortboard with a little extra width in the nose but all the performance features to surf hard and fast.

For any big guy rippers out there, longboarders wanting a shorter board or intermediates, look no further.

If you want a lightweight performance board that’ll last a long time, buy a TEC

What is it?

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our vacuum epoxy layup. Vacuum epoxy uses a hand lay-up process, with a vacuum bonding process to bind the fiber to the board and remove excess resin. We have a few tricks in the vacuum process that keeps the resin content at a much better level than can usually be achieved.

What’s the benefits?

We can add extra layers of fiber while keeping the overall weight down – our shortboards have 18oz of fiber on the deck and 10oz on the base – approximately double of the fiber found on most boards of the same weight.

The result is lightweight AND durability. The weight is similar to a PU but we have a lot more fiber and more layers to reinforce the rail.

How do they surf?

The performance is very direct – TEC has an immediate response that is especially good in smaller or weaker waves. In larger waves the advantage is they are a lot less likely to break.

If you’re used to PU they feel quick at first. After a few surfs, your old PU will feel very slow!

Our team rider’s report their boards outlasting their previous boards by around 2-4 times longer.
